Old appliances are awkward, heavy, and — in the case of refrigerators and air conditioners — regulated. SP Construction removes them all from homes and businesses across Boca Raton, Boynton Beach, Coral Springs, Margate, and Parkland. Our crews dolly each unit out with floors protected, load it carefully, and route it to the right destination: donation for working units, certified recycling for the rest. You get the space back without straining your back or guessing at disposal rules.
Refrigerant-bearing appliances — refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners, and dehumidifiers — are hauled intact, never drained or dismantled on your property. Refrigerant recovery is handled properly downstream by certified facilities, in line with EPA requirements, so nothing vents into the atmosphere. Your free, no-obligation quote is volume-based and confirmed before we start, and the appliance's old footprint is left swept and clean, ready for the new unit to slide in.
THE DETAILS
What this service covers
Refrigerators and freezers
Full-size refrigerators, garage freezers, wine coolers, and commercial units — hauled intact so the refrigerant stays sealed until certified recovery. We navigate them through kitchens and doorways without wall damage, and working units in good condition are considered for donation first. Empty it out, and we handle the rest.
Washers and dryers
Washer-dryer pairs, stacked units, and pedestals — removed from laundry rooms, closets, and garages. Disconnect the water lines and unplug the unit before we arrive (for gas dryers, have the line capped by a professional), and our crew dollies everything out with floors protected from the first roll to the last.
Ovens, ranges, and dishwashers
Freestanding ranges, wall ovens, cooktops, dishwashers, and microwaves. Units must be disconnected from gas and hardwired power in advance — a licensed professional is the right call there — and we take it from that point: out of the cabinet run, onto the truck, and off to responsible recycling for the metal.
Air conditioners and dehumidifiers
Window units, portable ACs, mini-split components that have already been taken off the wall, and dehumidifiers. Like refrigerators, these travel intact so refrigerant can be recovered properly at certified facilities — never vented, never dumped. A small item with real environmental stakes, handled correctly every time.
Water heaters and small appliances
Tank water heaters (once disconnected and drained), microwaves, toaster ovens, vacuums, and the drawer of dead electronics — we take the whole spectrum. Metals are separated for scrap recycling, and e-waste is routed to proper processors rather than the landfill. One visit can clear them all.
THE PROCESS
How it works
Get your free quote
Text a photo of the appliance, note the make and where it sits in the home, or just call. We send back a free, no-obligation, volume-based quote — confirmed in person before any work begins.
Schedule your pickup
Pick a window that fits, including same-day and next-day appointments, subject to availability. Replacing an appliance? Schedule us right after the new delivery so the swap feels seamless.
We load and sweep
Our crew arrives with dollies and floor protection, maneuvers the unit out through the tightest kitchen or laundry room, loads it, and sweeps the space it left behind — including that decade of dust underneath.
Responsible disposal and donation
Working appliances are donated where possible. Refrigerant-bearing units go intact to certified facilities for proper refrigerant recovery, and metal-rich appliances are recycled for scrap — the responsible end for machines that served their time.

Frequently asked questions
Can't find your answer? Ask us directly — we respond fast.
Do you take refrigerators and freezers with refrigerant in them?
Yes. Refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners, and dehumidifiers are hauled intact — we never drain or dismantle them on your property. Refrigerant recovery happens downstream at certified facilities, in line with EPA requirements, so nothing is vented into the atmosphere.
Do I need to disconnect my appliance before pickup?
Plug-in appliances just need to be unplugged, and washers need the water lines turned off and detached. Gas appliances and hardwired units must be disconnected in advance by a licensed plumber or electrician — our crews do not disconnect gas or electrical connections.
Can you haul away my old appliance when the new one is delivered?
Yes — schedule the pickup for right after your delivery window, or the following day, and we will remove the old unit before it becomes a garage fixture. Same-day and next-day appointments are available, subject to availability.
What happens to appliances after you take them?
Working appliances in good condition are considered for donation first. Everything else is recycled: refrigerant is recovered by certified processors, and the steel, copper, and aluminum are reclaimed as scrap. Very little of a typical appliance needs to reach a landfill.
How much does appliance removal cost?
Pricing is volume-based: a single dishwasher takes up less truck space than a kitchen's worth of appliances, and your quote reflects that. Request a free, no-obligation quote with a photo, and your final price is confirmed before we begin — no hidden fees.
Can you remove appliances from a second floor or a condo?
Yes. Our crews dolly appliances down stairs and through condo corridors and elevators routinely, using floor protection and door-frame padding. Tell us about the building access when booking so we arrive with the right equipment.
Do I need to empty the refrigerator first?
Please do — remove all food and, ideally, unplug the unit a few hours ahead so it can defrost. We handle everything from there, including the awkward tilt-and-roll through the kitchen.
Which areas do you serve for appliance removal?
We remove appliances throughout Boca Raton, Boynton Beach, Coral Springs, Margate, and Parkland — from a single unit in a family kitchen to full appliance clear-outs in rental properties.
